PRESS STATEMENT ON DITSHWANELO HUMAN RIGHTS FILM FESTIVAL

DITSHWANELO FILM FESTIVAL, 15-22 MARCH, GRAND PALM

It is again time for the Annual DITSHWANELO Human Rights Film Festival!

The 7 th Annual DITSHWANELO Human Rights Film Festival will start on Thursday 15 th March and will run until Thursday 22 nd March. All films will be shown at the Stardust Cinema, Grand Palm Hotel, Gaborone.

The festival will be officially opened by The Attorney General Dr. A. Molokomme.

Mr. Mark Kaplan, the film director of “Betrayal”, will be present to explain about the film and answer questions from the audience. “Betrayal” is a film about the Truth and Reconciliation Process in South Africa.

Other films are about the legal system in America; the war in Iraq and Palestine; the situation in Dafur ( Sudan); working conditions in China; a national football team without a country; female genital mutilation and the Basarwa/San in Botswana and South Africa.

Tickets are available at Riverwalk and Matisong ( Maru-A-Pula School).
